Xavi secures his fourth title as coach of A el Sadd in Qatar

Spanish coach Xavi Hernández won his fourth title as coach of A el Sadd, where his compatriot Santi Cazorla also plays, beating A l’Arabi (2-1) in the Final of the Emir’s Cup at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.

Two goals from Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah provided the victory for Xavi’s team, which combines this title, the second in the Emir’s Cup after last year’s, in the trophies of the Qatar Super Cup and the Ooredoo Cup, a qualifying tournament played only by teams from the highest category in Qatar.

All the goals in the clash came in the first half. A l’Sadd took the lead three minutes later, in an action that was born with a shot from Cazorla that ended in the boots of Bounedjah, who brought the ball into the net.

Twenty minutes later he equalized the A l’Arabi, where the Spaniard Marc Muniesa plays, thanks to the Icelandic Aron Gunnarsson, but on the verge of the break, the Algerian striker scored again. It was his second goal and the winning goal of Xavi’s team, which kept the income until the end to seal the title.

The Spanish coach already won this trophy as a player in 2017.
