Video of Brawl Over PS5 at Walmart Surfaces online

A sometimes unfortunate side effect of the holiday season will make people aggressive when trying to purchase one of the most sought after gifts of the year. In 2020, this much-sought-after present for many is PlayStation 5 and it seems that at a Walmart location in the United States, tensions rose to a point between two customers that ended up sparking a fight.

Shared on social media, the video in question sees two Walmart shoppers standing in the store calling to each other. After trading insults for a few moments, one of the two decides that they would like to further aggravate the situation and proceeds to approach the other with his fists flying. After a while, the fight ends with the two on the ground and one person clearly comes out as the winner of the fight. While we don’t see the full extent of what caused the crash in the first place, reports indicate that a PS5 was the focus of the discussion between the two.

Given that we don’t have the full images of this situation, it’s important to stress that this fight might not have been superior to a PS5. That said, given the location where this fight took place, which was in the electronics section of the store, it seems likely that Sony’s newest console was the point of contention that started this chain of Events.

I have to say I hope one of those people you see in the video ends up leaving with a PS5 after it’s all over. I mean, what’s the point of throwing your hand with someone over a video game console if you don’t really get any? All we know about the conclusion of the story is that police showed up later at this Walmart location, but no arrests or summonses were made, as both fighters had left the store before police arrived.

All in all, this video is proof that the sooner we see PS5 consoles routinely kept on store shelves, the better. For now, Sony is still not able to keep the next-generation console in stock almost anywhere, but I’m sure that will start to change once we get to 2021.
