Florida Gators TE Kyle Pitts says he will enter the NFL draft and will not play in the bowl game

Florida finalist Kyle Pitts skips the senior season and will not play in the next Gators bowling game to prepare for the 2021 NFL draft, he announced Sunday on social media.

Pitts, a junior from Philadelphia, is considered one of the best in the top 10.

“After doing a lot of prayers and reflections and talking to my family, I’m going to leave my senior year and get into the 2021 NFL draft and not play the bowl game,” Pitts said. wrote on Twitter. “I’m really looking forward to pursuing my dreams of playing in the NFL. But I’ll always be a Gator.”

Pitts (6 feet 6, 239 pounds) ranks No. 1 among the extremes adjusted by ESPN project analysts Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay. Kiper ranks Pitts as No. 7 overall; McShay places him in 10th place.

Pitts has 43 catches for 770 yards with 12 touchdowns in eight games this season for the Gators, who are expected to be selected to play one Sunday in a New Year’s Eve game. He had seven receptions for 129 yards with a score in a 52-46 loss to Alabama’s No. 1 in Saturday night’s SEC championship game.
