EU. Restaurant sells tamal as if it were a burger; it goes viral

Mexico City /

Mexicans know that tamales are one of the most delicious foods, not for nothing are part of one of the most important traditions: Candlemas Day. However, there is a restaurant in the United States that decided it was a good idea add to this dish ingredients related to burgers, which is why many were baffled and criticized.

A post made by a user of this social network went viral via Twitter where he shared a screenshot of an original Tommy’s restaurant post, which has several premises in cities of the states of California and Nevada, Where it promotes tamal.

Original Tommy’s mentions in his networks that this tamal is made with beef and also add chili with meat which is his specialty. To make matters worse, yellow cheese is added to this food, jtomatoes, onions and cucumbers, ingredients that are common in burgers.

The reason this restaurant adds ingredients from a burger to tamal is that they mainly sell this product on their premises, but they have decided to add this Mexican dish to their menu.

“Enjoy our beef tamal covered with our world-famous chili. The perfect food,” reads the restaurant’s posts to promote this dish.

Quickly the tamal with chili went viral and not precisely because many people wanted to taste it, but they mentioned that it bore no resemblance to the Mexican tamal, so they were criticized.
