Elliot Page shares the first selfie since the gender statement to thank fans for “love and support”

On Sunday, Oscar-nominated Elliot Page shared his first selfie since his gender statement on Dec. 1 to thank fans for their “love and support.”

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you,” wrote the 33-year-old Canadian trailblazer, who has 8.5 million followers on social media.

“Your love and support has been the best gift. Be careful. Be there for each other. If you can, help @transanta and @translifeline. See you in 2021!”

Page’s Instagram post received brilliant comments from her former X-Men star Shawn Ashmore, Pose star Indya Moore, and disabled Model IMG, Jillian Mercado.

Earlier this month, Elliot (born Ellen Philpotts-Page) revealed that he now uses pronouns both he and he, describing himself as transgender and not binary.

“I can’t begin to express how remarkable it is to finally feel the love of who I am enough to pursue my true self,” said director There’s Something in the Water explained.

The 33-year-old Canadian trailblazer wrote:

“I love you sm!” The Instagram post on the page received brilliant comments from her former X-Men protagonist Shawn Ashmore, Pose star Indya Moore, and disabled Model IMG Jillian Mercado.

“I have been infinitely inspired by so many people in the trans community. Thank you for your courage, your generosity and your tireless work to make this world a more inclusive and compassionate place. I will offer all the support I can and continue to fight for a more affectionate and egalitarian society. ‘

The page continued: ‘I love being trans. And I love that I’m weird. And the closer I am and I fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I prosper ’.

Elliot previously came out as a lesbian in 2014 during a speech at the Human Rights Campaign’s ‘Time to Thrive’ conference in Las Vegas.
