King County Metro will once again offer free New Year’s Eve travel with promotional support and sponsorship from Seattle Center, which attracts thousands of people to the New Year’s Eve festivities, including free Seattle Center Winterfest activities at Seattle Center Armory and International Fountain and fireworks at midnight. Travel will be free from 7 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31 to 4 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, on subway buses and other subway traffic services. In addition, Metro will add more frequent service to its nightly routes, focusing on helping people travel near downtown Seattle after midnight fireworks.

Regular fares will still be charged at the Seattle Center Monorail, which serves as an important link between downtown Seattle and downtown traffic options, the Sound Transit Link light rail, and the Sound Transit Express buses, which accept ORCA cards and Transit tickets. GO for mobile phones.
The King County Subway will operate reduced hours on weekdays on New Year’s Eve on some routes, with additional buses being needed on several routes serving destinations such as Seattle Center, Capitol Hill and downtown. New Year’s Eve festivities can take advantage of Metro’s Night Owl network, with added service to major routes between 1am and 5am. The Via to Transit service in southeast Seattle will also operate extended hours.
Subway buses will operate with revised or reduced service schedules from December 23 to January 3.
