Government
• The Galveston County Courthouse will remain closed on Thursday, Friday and January 1st.
• The federal court will remain closed on Friday and January 1.
Cities
• Santa Fe City Offices will close today through Friday. For New Year’s Eve, the offices will be closed on December 31 and January 1.
• Kemah municipal offices will close today at noon and will remain closed until Friday. For New Year’s Eve, the offices will close at noon on December 31 and will remain closed until January 1.
• Dickinson City Offices will close today at 1:30 p.m., and will remain closed until Friday. For New Year’s Eve, offices will close at 1:30 pm on December 31 and will remain closed until January 1.
• League City city offices will close today at 1:30 p.m., and will remain closed until Friday. For New Year’s Eve, offices will close at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 31 and will remain closed until Jan. 1. There will be no garbage service on Friday or January 1st. The collection of Christmas trees on the sidelines begins on January 2nd.
• Clear Lake Shores City Offices will close today through Friday and close at noon on December 31 and will remain closed until January 1.
• The municipal offices in Friendswood will be closed on Thursday and Friday. No rubbish will be collected on Friday. Friday’s trash will be picked up on Tuesday. For New Year’s Eve, the offices will be closed on January 1. Garbage will be picked up on January 1st.
• Texas City offices will remain closed on Thursday, Friday and January 1st. Garbage will not be picked up on Friday or January 1st.
• The municipal offices of Galveston, Bayou Vista, Tiki Island, Hitchcock and La Marque will remain closed on Thursday, Friday and January 1.
• City offices in Jamaica Beach will be closed on Friday and January 1st.
• The post office will be closed on Friday and 1 January. No emails will be delivered, except for US Express items, for Christmas and New Year.
Libraries
• The Mae S. Bruce Library will remain closed today through Saturday. For New Year’s Eve, it will close on December 31st to January 3rd.
• The Helen Hall Library will close today at 1:30 p.m., and will remain closed until Sunday. For New Year’s Eve, it will close at 6 pm on December 31 and will remain closed until January 3.
• Dickinson Public Library will close today at 3pm and will remain closed until Friday. For New Year’s Eve, the library will close at 3 pm on December 31 and will remain closed until January 1.
• The Hitchcock Public Library will be closed from Thursday to Monday and from January 1 to January 4.
• The Rosenberg Library will be closed on Thursday, Friday, December 31 and January 1.
• The Friendswood Public Library will be closed Thursday through Saturday and New Year’s Eve on January 1st.
• The Moore Memorial and La Marque Public Libraries will be closed on Thursday, Friday, and January 1st.
Other closures
• Most banks will close on Friday and January 1st.
• The Galveston County Health District will be closed on Thursday, Friday and January 1st.
• Coastal Health & Wellness will be closed from Thursday to Saturday and January 1st.
• The Galveston County Animal Resource Center will be closed on Thursday, Friday and January 1st.
• The Daily News will be closed on Friday and January 1st.
