ESPN commentators prepare for New Year’s Eve college football playoff semifinals

ESPN’s postseason college football coverage peaks with the exclusive presentation of the College Football Playoff, which kicks off with the semifinals on New Year’s Day, Friday, January 1st. alternative television broadcasts available on ESPN networks through ESPN’s MegaCast presentation. ESPN Radio will broadcast all three games. In addition, the rest of the New Year’s Six can also be seen live on ESPN and ESPN Radio.

The classic Goodyear Cotton Bowl, featuring Florida’s No. 7 and Oklahoma’s No. 6, is the first of the New Year’s Six, scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. Joe Tessitore, Greg McElroy and Holly Rowe are ready for the call on ESPN and Brad Sham, Dusty Dvoracek and Ian Fitzsimmons will announce the action on ESPN Radio.

New Year’s Day action begins with the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, as Georgia’s No. 9 and Cincinnati’s No. 8 face off at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Mark Jones, Dvoracek and Kris Budden will team up for the TV call, while Dave O’Brien and Mike Golic Jr will be the headphones for the ESPN radio show.

At 4 p.m., the semifinals of the Rose Bowl Game college football playoff presented by Capital One will be live from Arlington, Texas, with a stacked list of commentators announcing Alabama’s No. 1 vs. No. 4 of Our Lady. Sean McDonough, Todd Blackledge, Todd McShay and Allison Williams are set to air on ESPN, while the trio of Tessitore, McElroy and Rowe will be live on ESPN Radio.

At 8 p.m., the semifinals of the college football playoff at the Allstate Sugar Bowl face numbers 2 from Clemson and 3 from Ohio State, under the lights of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The leader of ESPN Saturday Night Football the crew of Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Maria Taylor will be joined by Tom Rinaldi in New Orleans on ESPN, and Sean Kelley and Barrett Jones will team up for the ESPN Radio broadcast.

On Saturday, Jan. 2, the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl begins action as No. 25 in Oregon and No. 10 in the state of Iowa on ESPN. Dave Pasch, Mike Golic Sr. and Quint Kessenich will be at the ESPN call, with Marc Kestecher and Ben Hartsock announcing Glendale’s action on ESPN Radio.

To close out the New Year’s Six action, the Capital One Orange Bowl will host Texas A&M’s No. 5 and North Carolina’s No. 13 at Hard Rock Stadium. Bob Wischusen, Dan Orlovsky and Katie George are ready for ESPN, with Kelley and Jones announcing their second New Year Six on ESPN Radio.
