Porsche Center Puerto Rico recently virtually introduced the eighth and latest generation of the 911 Turbo. The launch was made at an unprecedented event, inspired by one of Porsche’s most successful international launches in Los Angeles, California.

The 911 Turbo is the quintessential icon of Porsche. An event with impressive power, and unparalleled sportiness that lives on from generation to generation, staying true to its essence since 1974 when it was launched, “said Orlando Pérez, sales manager of Garage Europa Porsche Center.

For the past 45 years the Porsche 911 Turbo has been the benchmark for high-performance sports cars that can be used comfortably in everyday life. The new 911 Turbo is even more powerful, fast and exclusive than before. Thanks to his mgrants six-cylinder boxer, with maximum power of 572 horsepower (hp) (640 hp for the Turbo S model), new eight-speed PDK gearbox, a maximum torque of 750Nm and maximum speed per minute of 7,200 rpm, allow the 911 Turbo to accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour (mph) in 2.7 seconds (2.6 for the Turbo S) and get the top speed of 199 mph (205 mph on the Turbo S).

Options such as Sports packages or Lightweight Design, sports chassis and sports exhaust system are available for the first time for the 911 Turbo. Thus, customers will be able to customize the vehicle much more, according to their tastes.

The new model follows in the footsteps of the previous 911 Turbo, synonymous with luxury and performance since 1974. Each generation has remained a global benchmark among high-performance sports cars. The 911 Turbo also combines sportiness with ease for everyday use, dynamism with reliability and excellent performance with efficiency. The latter 2 + 2-seater is more than twice as powerful as the original Turbo, which was powered by a 3.0-liter boxer engine with a single turbocharger that delivered 256 hp. The 911 Turbo has become faster, bigger and more comfortable over the years, but always maintaining its core features.

The new 3.7-liter boxer engine has increased its power, and now features two symmetrical variable geometry (VTG) turbochargers, with electronically controlled discharge valves. Together with the redesigned turbo cooling system and the use of piezoelectric injectors, it manages to improve the response, torque, performance and its ability to rise revolutions.

The chassis and body are wider. The front axle is more accurate in its behavior thanks to an increase of 42 millimeters in track width and the new 255/35 tires combined with 20-inch wheels. Traction management control (PTM) can transfer more torque to the front wheels, while traction on the rear directional axle also improves, with a track width that is 10 millimeters larger and with 315 wheels / 30 mounted on 21-inch hoops (one inch longer than on the front).

The revamped brake system is even more powerful and can be recognized by the fixed red calipers it carries as standard. The gray cast iron discs measure 408 mm in diameter in front (28 mm more than before) and have a thickness of 36 mm (2 mm more). On the rear axle the thickness of the discs is 30 mm and its diameter is 380 mm.

The 911 Turbo has for the first time an optional sports exhaust system. Also new are the two different chassis options available. The Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) that mounts as standard offers a wider range of possibilities of adjustment between comfort and sportiness, is firmer than before and with the electronically controlled sports damping lowers the height of the body 10 millimeters. Its configuration aims to improve the dynamics of the car and provides even more stability in driving at high speeds, such as when the vehicle is used in racing circuits. The options of active system of hydraulic stabilization of the balancing, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), and the system of ceramic brakes, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB), with fixed calipers of ten pistons for the front axis, they represent an additional improvement due to the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle.

The basic elements of the modern interior correspond to those of the rest of the 911 Carrera and include the Porsche Advanced Cockpit and Direct Touch Control. The central screen of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) is 10.9 inches and, thanks to its new architecture, can be handled quickly and without distractions. The list of equipment, wide and high quality, includes the 14-setting electric sports seats, the Sport Chrono package, a multifunction GT steering wheel with shift cams and a switch for driving modes, as well as the powerful system surrounding Bose ® sound. There are also numerous customization options, including the lane keeping assistant, the night vision assistant, the peripheral vision for parking maneuvers, and the Burmester high-fidelity surround sound system.
