Jason Tatum’s bomb gives the Celtics the win over the Bucks

Boston – Jayson Tatum hit a triple that meant the lead in the final second, and the Boston Celtics escaped Wednesday with a 122-121 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, in what was the first duel for all two sets in this campaign.

Giannis Antetokounmpo missed a free kick that would have tied the game at 0.4 seconds from the end.

Tatum scored 30 points and Jaylen Brown added 33 for Boston, who started the fourth period with a 17-point lead. The Celtics lost 120-119 with 8.9 seconds to play.

Then Tatum spent a few seconds dribbling, before making his pumped shot in front of Antetokounmpo, from the left side. The ball, rubbed the glass before entering the basket.

The following service was thrown towards the hoop and Antetokounmpo tried to push to score, but received a foul. The Greek, named the Most Valuable Player in the NBA in the previous two seasons, hit the first free kick but missed the second.

Antetokounmpo scored 32 points, including 18 in the last period. Khris Middleton totaled 27 units and 14 rebounds for Milwaukee.

In vain triple-double from Westbrook

Joel Embiid scored the basket that meant the lead with 1:09 minutes to play and contributed 29 points and 14 rebounds for the Philadelphia 76ers to double the Washington Wizards 113-107 on Wednesday.

The defeat ruined Russell Westbrook’s debut and “triple-double” with the Wizards.

Westbrook and Bradley Beal looked fantastic on their first day together and almost caused the 76ers coach Doc Rivers to lose in his Philadelphia debut. Westbrook added 21 units, 15 assists and 11 rebounds for the Wizards, who acquired him in a spectacular change that sent John Wall, a pillar of the team, to the Houston Rockets.

Beal, twice selected in the All-Star Game and the league’s second-highest scorer last season, scored 31 points.

The Sixers made most of their changes in the bench, hiring Rivers as a replacement for Brett Brown and with the mission of sneaking a team that lost by sweep in the first round of the playoffs the previous season. The franchise is looking for its first title since 1983.

Rivers has to find a way for Embiid and Ben Simmons to work. These are two stellar players who have yet to reap the rewards with their prodigious talent and who have instead caused frustration in the fans with their failures.

Simmons sealed the win with a monstrous nail in the second finals.
