British model Stella Tennant died on Tuesday at the age of 50 in the Scottish town of Duns, her family confirmed in a statement on Wednesday.
“Stella was a wonderful woman and a source of inspiration for all of us. She will be sorely missed,” her family members noted in the note.
Scottish by birth, Tennant rose to fame in the early 1990s, starring in photo shoots in the most prestigious magazines and publications, such as Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar, among others.

He also stood out on catwalks around the world, where he paraded with the creations of leading fashion designers, and his face was associated with global brands such as Calvin Klein, Chanel and Burberry.
Already retired from the fashion world, she took part in the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics alongside other well-known British supermodels, including Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.
That same year, she entered the Scottish Fashion Hall of Fame, in recognition of her long and successful career.
The family said in a statement, calling for “privacy to be respected,” that it will release more details about the funeral “later.”
Scottish Police also reported today that officers from the corps showed up at a Duns address around 11.30am local time on Tuesday, in response to the “sudden death of a 50-year-old woman”.
Law enforcement noted that no “suspicious circumstances” were detected.
