Georgia’s former Senate candidate, the Rev. Raphael Warnock, told police she had deliberately run over him during an internal dispute in March 2020 and that her ex-husband is a “big actor,” according to a report.
Ouleye Ndoye told Atlanta police that Warnock ran over his foot during a dispute, “and the only thing he cares about right now is his reputation” because of his Senate career, according to bodycam images aired Tuesday on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
“I have tried to keep the way it acts under wraps for a long time, and today it has crossed the line. So that’s what happens here. And he’s a great actor. It’s phenomenal when it comes to doing a really good show, ”a tearful Ndoye told police.
Warnock was not charged, and police in a report obtained by the Atlanta Journal Constitution said medical officials found no visible signs of injuries to his wife’s foot.
The video aired exactly two weeks before the Jan. 5 election in Georgia, in which Warnock challenges incumbent Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler, one of two races in Peach State that will determine which party controls the chamber. high of Congress next year. .
The images show the senior pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta telling police his estranged wife called officers and alleged he ran over her while trying to get away with her car.
The two were involved in divorce negotiations at the time. The divorce has since ended.
“Did you run over his foot?” The officer asked.
“I don’t think so,” replied Warnock, “I don’t think so.”
The two, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, had been arguing over whether Warnock would allow him to apply for passports so he could take his two children to his grandfather’s funeral in West Africa.
Warnock told officers that while trying to get out, his wife prevented him from closing the passenger door of the car.
“I do not want to go into a match with her. So I go back, get back in the car and start moving slowly, as if moving forward. Then he claims I passed over his foot, ”Warnock said.
Officers turn to Ndoye, who tells them that Warnock refused to talk to her.
“It’s like,” Ouleye, close the door. I’m leaving, “his wife said, drowning in tears.” And she said, ‘Listen to me. If your mother died and I have children. You wouldn’t want me to let them go with you to the funeral. “And the car is just starting to pull back. I wasn’t going fast, I wasn’t bleeding.
He said he thought he deliberately passed him by.
“Viously. I was standing here. The door was open and I leaned into the car. How can I drive the car when I lean over? “, He said.
“This man is running for the U.S. Senate and now he only cares about his reputation,” he tells the officer. “I have been very calm about his way of doing things for the good of my children and his reputation.”
“I have tried to keep the way it acts under wraps for a long time, and today it has crossed the line. So that’s what happens here. And he’s a great actor. It’s great to do a really good show, “said Ndoye.
Warnock mocked his account.
“I barely move and all of a sudden he is screaming that I passed him over his foot. I don’t think so, “he said.
Loeffler, in a statement to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, said the images were “deeply troubling.”
Warnock spokesman Michael Brewer described it as a “desperate and shameful” attempt by Loeffler to discredit his rival in the betting race.
