During his time working at the company, Curley insists he defended tirelessly on behalf of HBCU students, although he was constantly met with reaction from his superiors. And, to the contrary, it means denials of promotion and leadership opportunities, compensation cuts, placement in performance improvement plans despite having excellent execution metrics, exclaiming and intentionally excluding oneself from meetings. One of the white women even went so far as to tell Curley that her Baltimore accent was a disability that should have been revealed to her peers. “I could write for days about all the very racist hiring and hiring practices I saw on Google, WITH RECIPES,” Curley added in a tweet. “Take it from ME, their most successful BLACK QUEER WOMAN recruiter who was shot in the middle of an MF pandemic because they were tired of hearing me scream for their racist shit.”
