A thief devastated a British mother after leaving with more than $ 5,000 in Christmas presents, including gifts for her disabled young child.
That’s until unknown strangers came to the rescue, according to a report.
Courtney Farnell, 21, had scratched all year to give her 16-month-old daughter the “best Christmas a mother could give,” but instead went into a looted house on Christmas Eve, as reported by The Sun.
“We walked in the front door,” Farnell told the newspaper. “I took Minnie out of the car and approached the house. I could see all my belongings everywhere. ”
“All the gifts were gone,” he said. “Everything I had achieved for my family, for my daughter.”
“It simply came to our notice then. My daughter was robbed. ”
Courtney, who lives in Leeds, in the north of England, said she had taken her girl to a 30-minute drive on Wednesday afternoon to calm her down and returned home at midnight on Thursday to find that the thieves had they had assaulted.
Gifts presented include new Xbox and PlayStation consoles, a laptop, a camera and gifts for her little girl, Courtney said on a GoFundMe page she set up.
“I’m absolutely heartbroken, we don’t even know how many carols we have with Minnie,” she wrote. “She has brain damage, epilepsy, global developmental delays and more. All she wanted was an amazing Christmas for her.”
“I spent every penny making this Christmas special for her and I have nothing left.”
His request for help did not go unnoticed.
On Christmas morning, his fundraising page had raised more than $ 4,000, more than double the amount he had requested.
“I want to thank everyone who has helped and given,” he told The Sun. “It’s been our Christmas. Christmas saved us. “
