A Long Island man steals the tractor and crashes into Target: cops

A Long Island man’s Christmas morning shopping party wasn’t exactly a resounding success.

Police said a 33-year-old Deer Park man got behind the wheel of a 2010 Bobcat tractor parked at the Bay Shore mall and drove through the front doors of a local Target store.

Justin Shuffle then allegedly went outside again, parked the tractor and returned to the store, where police said he was going to commit a mini-theft.

When police showed up shortly before 2 a.m., they grabbed Shuffle at the electronics department with a $ 78 coat and a handful of Target gift cards, police said.

“It’s a very brazen act to use a piece of electrical construction equipment to break down a store door,” the Suffolk County police sergeant said. Jeffrey Walker told The Post Thursday.

“Looks like there really wasn’t a big plan here,” Walker said. “It seemed like it was a one-time deal.”

Shuffle was charged with third-degree theft and fourth-degree theft.

He was tried on Christmas morning at the Central Islip First District Court, police said.

It was unclear whether he was ordered on bail, but the two charges are not eligible for bail under that state’s criminal justice reform law, police said.

A call was not returned to Shuffle’s house.
