The Municipal Administration of Mayagüez and its Mayor José Guillermo Rodríguez have been coordinating for days together with senior officers of the National Guard of Puerto Rico, the start of vaccination of Covid-19 in this city, which in addition to covering residents of neighboring villages.
The plans are aimed at starting the Covid-19 Vaccination Center in Mayagüez from mid-January 2021, once the National Guard determines whether it will be operating from the facilities of the Isidoro García Stadium or the Palace of Recreation and Sports of this city.
A meeting was held a few days ago led by Mayor Rodríguez, the City Administrator, Reinaldo Torres, epidemiologist Yadira Guilloty and senior officers of the National Guard (GN), who are in charge of the process. of vaccination in which a number of agreements were advanced.
They are expected to travel to Mayaguez in the coming days to visit the two facilities and determine if they meet the requirements, although in a recent radio interview in which Mayor Rodriguez and General Reis agreed, it appears they could lean towards the area of the Isidoro García stadium.
