This sandwich was a real punch.
A man who ordered food early in the morning at a Hamilton Heights deli was apparently unhappy with the results. Police say he started fighting for the sandwich with a charcuterie worker, identified by police as Ali Zubaidi.
Meat at 5 a.m. continued outside the store at 3660 Broadway.
Zubaidi, 26, is accused of punching the 29-year-old unidentified customer and knocking him to the ground, police said. The victim cut off his hands and neck, police said.
Zubaidi, of the Bronx, was charged with assault.
A man who answered the phone on the afternoon of N&H Deli said Zubaidi had been working there for less than a month and that the injured customer could have been drunk.
