Saudi Arabia’s aviation authority has allowed airlines to resume flights to transport foreigners out of the kingdom, state television reported.

The decision excludes countries dealing with the new Covid-19 variant and flight crew members landing in the kingdom cannot leave their planes, according to the report.

Saudi Arabia also extended the suspension of international and international flights closing of his border crossing for another week over concern over the new coronavirus strain, according to the Saudi state news agency. According to the report, flights for foreigners who want to leave the country and cargo were excluded from the transfer.

Saudi Arabia suspended all international flights a week ago and cited a lack of information on the new strain, SPA reported then. The move followed a decision in the UK to impose a closure in London and the south-east of England to control the rapidly spreading coronavirus strain at the time.
