Fortnite has some pretty discordant differences in its Chinese version

It might be easy to assume that video games are the same in all regions of the world, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. In the event that Fortnite specifically, the mega-popular shooter from Epic Games is very different in China compared to the version we already know in the United States.

For starters, many of the characters and skins available at Fortnite they need to be slightly modified due to China’s guidelines. In short, China does not allow anything that can be considered offensive to video games to appear, which means that Epic has to find some occasional solutions. One such case involves the use of skulls or skeletons, which are considered disrespectful in China. So in the case of certain character models, like the new version of Taskmaster, Epic has to alter the design so that it doesn’t look like a skull.

While it looks like it may not end up being a major deal, the number of skins out there Fortnite which have been affected are quite high in number. So far, skins of characters like Crackshot, Menace, Brutus and Shadow have changed in some way. Mystique’s unique Backbling, which usually features a skull, has also been changed and is just a golden ball. Finally, the skins of Ghost Rider, Skull Trooper, Skull Ranger and the alternate costume of the Peely Bone were not even added to the game.

The main changes a Fortnite in China, however, they do not end here. Some limited time modes have never appeared in the Chinese version of the game either, although China has had unique events that other regions have not seen. Also, Arena mode was never added to the game.

Although Fortnite in China it may seem like a smaller version of the game around, there is a major advantage that players have in the country. Due to Chinese laws that do not allow booty boxes or microtransactions, V-Bucks are delivered simply to play. Fortnite for China, a kind of reward system is instituted where players can achieve goals to win the game currency. Also, battle steps are freely given to any player who is above level 30. This is an aspect that I am sure many others in the world would love to see instituted in Fortnite as a whole.

Last but not least, perhaps the strangest Fortnite The Chinese edition is that the game allows multiple players to win a Battle Royale game. If a match lasts more than 20 minutes, all players still playing are proclaimed winners. To continue, if any player is improving than the others in a match, the game will give them a chance to set aside here and there while awarding them a Victory Royale.

Definitely, it’s weird to see how different Fortnite it is in other countries, but honestly it would be good to see that some of these aspects were directed to other regions. It remains to be seen whether Epic Games chooses to do so or not, but it probably wouldn’t live up to my hopes.
