The popular Cuban actress Corina Mestre is admitted to intensive care at the Institute of Tropical Medicine “Pedro Kouri” of Havana, after having contracted from coronavirus.
The 66-year-old artist is in a serious condition and under strict clinical follow-up due to his obesity and to present a picture of respiratory acidosis with inflammatory lesions in both lungs, as reported in CubaNet two sources who asked not to reveal their identities so as not to jeopardize their jobs.
CiberCuba contacted a person close to the family, who corroborated the information.
Mestre, recognized among many other works for bringing Bernarda Alba to life or for her role in the popular Double Game series, would be among the serious cases reported by the Cuban Ministry of Public Health to his share of December 24th, Where it is indicated to remain afebrile, with isolated dry cough and in spontaneous ventilation with supplemental oxygen.
Sources consulted say that the actress’ condition worsened on the last day and that several of her relatives are under epidemiological surveillance.
So far, the Cuban official press has not echoed the state of health of Mestre, an actress much loved by the public and a figure of continuous and express support for the Cuban government.
