Shortly before the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angles Rams started, interesting news was given about defensive attack Damon “Snacks” Harrison.
Tom Pelissero, of the NFL network, tweeted about the following:
DT Damon ‘Snacks’ Harrison asked for his release after learning he would be inactive today against the #Rams, and the team plans to grant him next week, according to sources. Seattle loves snacks and hopes to change his mind, but it seems his decision is decided. I would go with resignations.
Harrison was deemed inactive Sunday against the Rams.
Coach Pete Carroll confirmed the stage Monday during his radio show on 710 ESPN Seattle.
“Snacks, he’s decided to stop playing, he’s finished playing,” Carroll said. “I talked to him this morning, he’s in a very good mood and all of that, he’s very grateful for the opportunity to play here and he’s done really well for us, but he just did it.”
Carroll was hesitant to speculate whether or not Harrison would consider signing with another team, but reiterated that his time had ended in Seattle.
“It was amazing to have him around,” Carroll continued. “We loved him and I’m sorry to see him leave, but we’ll keep going.”
