Municipality of Ponce delivers incentives to its traders

The mayoress of Ponce, María “Mayita” Meléndez Altieri, Reported today, Monday, that it gave an economic incentive of $ 750 to 80 small traders to continue mitigating their economic situation after the recent earthquakes that have affected the municipality and by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We recognize that disruptions in operations and losses in infrastructure have severely impacted our businesses and that these businesses in many cases have no funds to continue or resume their operations. Therefore, whenever aid is made available to small businesses , those who have been most affected, fulfill our responsibility to attend- “, the mayor expressed in written expressions.

In addition to economic incentives, the Autonomous Municipality of Ponce in recent months granted exemptions in municipal patent payments, supported the completion of applications and referred to the Department of Economic Development and Trade for economic incentives, va to present the program “reopening my Business” where they were provided with support and guidance and also served as a link for referrals and business guidance to other entities in the business ecosystem.

“Apart from that, we have asked Governor Wanda Vázquez to set up a multisectoral effort for the reconstruction of Ponce and the southern region and we have established a Service Center with municipal employees to support the streamlining of unemployment claims and the PUA, “Meléndez Altieri argued.

He added, “despite the challenges we have faced, they have transcended what we could have anticipated. Ponce continues to fight, resilient and on the road to rebuilding and revitalizing the Lordship.”
