A German pilot drew a giant syringe in the sky on Sunday to encourage people to get the coronavirus vaccine when the vaccination campaign in Europe begins.
Reuters reported that Samy Kramer, 20, traced the route before flying over the sky near Lake Constance in southern Germany. The flight route could be viewed on the Flightradar24 website.
“There are still relatively many people who oppose vaccination and my action can remind them to think about the issue and get things moving,” Kramer told Reuters.
“Maybe it was also a bit of a joy, because the aviation industry has been hit hard by the pandemic,” he added.

European Union countries received the first shipments of the coronavirus vaccine this past weekend. In Germany, people caring for vulnerable populations and people over the age of 80 have priority to receive the vaccine first.
German Health Minister Jens Spahn said on Saturday: “Trucks are currently underway across Europe, in Germany and its regions, to administer the first vaccine. More deliveries will follow after tomorrow. This vaccine it is the key to ending this pandemic. “
The EU has agreed to buy 300 million doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine and millions more doses from other pharmaceutical companies.
According to the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 data board, Germany has so far confirmed more than 1.6 million cases and more than 30,000 deaths.
