HARRISBURG (KDKA) – At a news conference Monday, Pennsylvania Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine confirmed that restrictions imposed by the Department of Health more than two weeks ago would not be lifted before Jan. 4. they would not give any clarification as to whether these restrictions could be extended beyond 4 January.
“We will hold these discussions with the governor’s office and will obviously make our recommendations this week in preparation for Jan. 4,” Levine said.
Levine would not delve into any potential plans after Jan. 4 when reporters asked him.
Levine also said there have been no “reports of complications or reactions in Pennsylvania since Monday,” as more and more health workers and now people are in long-term care facilities. they receive the vaccine.

In response to several establishments challenging the restrictions, Levine said she was concerned about the impact those open establishments would have on their respective communities.
“What I would say to the facilities and the owners of these facilities is that I am concerned about their health. I think they expose themselves, their families, their loved ones and the facilities staff. [by continuing] to stay open and continue[ing] to go against the orders and put their community at risk to continue spreading COVID-19, ”he said.
Levine urged Pennsylvanians to follow the restrictions and bar and restaurant owners to close their facilities in compliance with mitigation orders.
Mitigation orders were originally announced on December 11th.
