Investigators are studying whether Nashville bomber Anthony Quinn Warner had his dogs with him when he exploded on Christmas Day, officials said Monday.
The 63-year-old loner was known to be dedicated to his puppies, even building a wheelchair ramp in his suburban home, so they didn’t have to use the stairs, his neighbor told The Tennessean.
He reportedly told a friend he had planned to “spend a few weeks in the woods with his dogs,” with investigators now examining whether anyone was there during his suicide mission.
“That, we don’t know yet,” David Rausch, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, told reporters Monday when asked if one of Warner’s dogs “died” next to him.
“They’re still information we’re trying to determine, all that detail,” he said.
Warner had numerous dogs over the years, including two Shetland Sheepdogs and an older dog he adopted, his neighbor next door for 25 years, Steve Schmoldt, told The Tennessean.
“He took very good care of his dogs,” said the neighbor, who thought the dogs were already dead.
But Warner allegedly referred to them in late November when he wrote to Michelle Swing (the woman he gave two houses for free) and said he “intended to travel on Christmas Eve to spend a few weeks in the woods with their dogs “. reported the UK Sun.
