WhatsApp will stop working on some phones from 2021> World> Granma

The popular instant messaging app WhatsApp will no longer be available on some smartphones from January 1, 2021. We tell you what they are.

As reported by the app on its questions and answers page, these are devices that use Android 4.0.3 and iOS 9 operating systems, or their older versions. In this way, users will be forced to upgrade their operating system to access the application and be able to receive technical support.

In particular, these are the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone S, iPhone 7 and iPhone 6S and other older Apple models. As for Android devices, they are the HTC Desire, LG Optimus Black, Motorola Droid Razr and Samsung Galaxy S2. While some users will be able to continue the app if they get an operating system patch, others will be forced to purchase a new device.

To see if your phone is compatible with the app, Android users need to go to the settings section titled About Phone. And if you’re an Apple user, you need to go to your smartphone’s settings, then see the general information about your device. It should be noted that all users will receive a notification from the app about the need to update the operating system.
