SLO County reports 4 more deaths attributed to COVID-19

San Luis Obispo County reports the deaths of four more people who tested positive for COVID-19.

Health officials say the patients were between 80 and 100 years old.

San Luis Obispo County has had 74 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

The county also added 63 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the county’s total to 9,602 confirmed cases on Dec. 29.

On Monday, county health officials said they expect daily case counts to increase in the coming days due to a discrepancy between county and state reports and a break in testing over the holiday weekend. .

Currently, 59 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 in San Luis Obispo County, including 12 patients who are in the ICU. Another 2,034 people are recovering at home and health officials say 7,421 people have recovered.

According to the COVID-19 online board of the State of California, there are currently 23 beds available in the ICU in San Luis Obispo County.

  • San Simeó – 8

The location of an additional 34 cases is being investigated and another 12 are shown as “other,” which includes communities with less than five cases. The Department of Public Health does not identify these locations.

COVID-19 community test sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
