  • People 65 years or older
  • People aged 16 and over with at least one chronic medical condition that puts them at increased risk for serious COVID-19 virus-related illnesses, such as:
    cancer
    chronic kidney disease
    COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
heart conditions such as heart failure, coronary heart disease or cardiomyopathies
    solid organ transplantation
obesity and severe obesity (body mass index of 30 kg / m2 or higher)
    pregnancy
    sickle cell disease
    Type 2 diabetes mellitus

NBC 5 spoke with a 70-year-old couple who were able to call and find a Super 1 Food pharmacy in Seagoville that gave vaccines to people over 65.

They made an appointment and on Tuesday morning received a Modern vaccine.

A spokesman for the Texas State Department of Health Services posted the following statement on NBC 5:

We are still in phase 1A, but we have provided guidelines to providers who have vaccinated all members who want to do phase 1A and who have a vaccine available. We’ve added a provider location map to our website and updated our main vaccine information page with information for the public advising them to check with providers to see if they have a vaccine that can be used to vaccinate people. in phase 1B. The map shows where the vaccine was sent, but does not indicate whether this provider has vaccine available for the Phase 1B population. We want to be clear that Phase 1B people can check with these providers to determine if they have a vaccine available and can make an appointment to get vaccinated at this site. We acknowledge that available supply is limited and some map providers may have already used all of their mapping. Inform your viewers that Texas will receive more shots each week so people can check the map weekly for up-to-date information.
