A woman who beat Hilaria Baldwin says the false accent is “offensive”

The news on social media that provoked the Spanish accent scandal of Hilaria Baldwin said in a new interview that the popular yoga guru should “own what he did” – and described his claims as born in Spain of offensive and wrong.

The woman, who started a thread on December 21 under @LeniBriscoe questioning Baldwin’s claim that she was born in Mallorca, told the Daily Mail that she has little remorse for being behind the noise.

“People were asking me if you have anything better to do and the answer is, no, no,” he told the press on condition of anonymity. “It’s a pandemic, it’s cold outside and I don’t celebrate Christmas.”

On Monday he said in it infamous Tweet: “You must admire Hilaria Baldwin’s commitment to her decade of struggle where she impersonates a Spanish person.”

In the midst of the firestorm, Baldwin was forced to admit that, despite speaking with a questionable accent and claiming that she was born in Spain, she is actually just a “white girl” from Boston.

The Twitter citizen told the New York Times on Wednesday anonymously that she feared making it public because Hilaria’s husband, Alec Baldwin, could beat her.

Briscoe, who attended elite Vassar College in upstate New York, criticized Hilaria for claiming she was born in Spain.

“It is offensive and wrong to pretend to be an immigrant and speak English as a second language and appropriate the real experience that real immigrant women have. That is not what happened,” she told the Daily Mail.

“She posted a post where she said people in the park thought she was the nanny because her children are blond and have blue eyes. This is something that happens to mothers of color who really have an accent,” she said.

“This is offensive, they are hard experiences that people really have and pretended. It is not really necessary. She could be an influential white. A lot of people do, ”Briscoe added.

He also said that at first he did not realize that Baldwin had been impersonating a Spaniard before people found articles in which he spoke of Spanish culture.

“That makes me worse,” he told the Daily Mail.

Briscoe also revealed that she has been inundated with messages since the original letter, some of which were not kind.

“Someone said he did it because I’m jealous and uglier. I don’t care if I’m uglier. It seems like a lot of work to look like her, ”he said at the start.

But he also said he “feels some responsibility” for the reaction against Baldwin on social media.

“In this case it was fun, but social media can be really cruel and harmful when there’s a pile when someone does something that people don’t like. I don’t think it’s great, ”he said.

“People said cruel and unnecessary things. That bothered me. There are so many things that Hillary Baldwin could be criticized for, that you don’t have to make fun of how many children she has, which was really offensive to me, “he added.

“It reminded me of when people made fun of Melania Trump for modeling naked. Who cares? This does not hurt anyone. He’s done other things that can be mocked, ”Briscoe said.

“There are elements of misogyny that come in, but it’s important to summon people when they do harmful things that I think it was,” he said.

When asked what he would say to Baldwin, Briscoe said, “I would say I should apologize to all immigrants and second English language learners and mothers of color who are actually confused with their children’s nannies. He should own what he did. ”
