The Florida Department of Health on Thursday confirmed the first case in the state of the new and most contagious variant of COVID-19.
This is a 20-year-old man from Martin County who has no travel history.
“The Department is working with the CDC on this investigation,” it was stated via Twitter.
The first two cases of the new strain of COVID-19 in the United States were identified in Colorado and California this week.
Florida has evidence of the first identified case of the UK COVID-19 variant in Martin County. The individual is a man in his twenties with no travel history. The Department is working with the CDC on this investigation. We encourage everyone to continue practicing COVID-19 mitigation.
