Cubans will be able to pull off 15 thousand pesos in one day at the island’s ATMs, as of January 1, 2021, as announced by the Metropolitan Bank of Cuba.
The operations will have a limit of 5 thousand Cuban pesos, so that in one day up to three extractions can be made with this sum.
With a smaller sum, up to 10 operations can be carried out in one day with the same magnetic card, as long as it does not exceed 15 thousand pesos in total.
for the electronic operations which are made with magnetic cards, such as Transfermóvil, TPV and Enzona, the limit extends to 30 thousand pesos in one day and 20 daily operations may be carried out that do not exceed this total value. It will also be possible to carry out operations worth 30,000 pesos at a time.
The measure is launched with the start of the monetary system that begins throughout Cuba from January 1 and involves not only the exit from circulation of the CUC, but the increase in prices in many of the basic services.
The Cimex Corporation also reported that as of January 1, Cubans who use the TuEnvío platform will have to update it with the new version of Transfermóvil (V.201229), which will be available from noon, and which will allow “the correct operation of purchases on our e-commerce platform.”
The said platform had already announced that, due to the configuration for the monetary ordering, their services were suspended this December 31st and January 1st. Home delivery of existing orders will not be made during these two days either.
