Blimey, 2020 was a bit of a slogan, right? It is unlikely to be remembered as a particularly baffling year in human history, which with a global pandemic effectively closes the entire world. We’ve had to cut back on the things we like to do to keep people safe, and many of us have lost loved ones to a virus that, 12 months ago, wasn’t seen in quite such a dramatic light.
2021 doesn’t seem to be that different: from where we are in the UK, a national closure has actually been established which means we start the new year the same way we spent most of 2020, but there are still reasons to stay happy. The best corpses on earth have discovered a vaccine and, with their fingers crossed, the message of the new year that we publish in 12 months will be a little more optimistic.
Anyway, enough of all this, let’s spend some time waiting for 2021. What new games do you think we’ll see? How will events like E3, Gamescom and PAX be presented this year? Will Bayonet 3 finally see release, or will they just tell us “development is going well” again? How many more people will hire Retro to work Metroid Prime 4? It will be the damn Switch Pro in reality materialize?
We’re not sure 2021 will have the answers to all of these questions, but we’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a prosperous and enjoyable year, and thank you for making Nintendo Life the current site. In this regard, it is worth noting that we have had a record year of traffic across the Nlife network: our sister sites Push Square and Pure Xbox have enjoyed their biggest years, and all three sites have accumulated 361,424,293 page views the last 12 months, so 2020 was not all bad, I suppose.
