Between The Wizard, Castlevania, and the next Assassin’s Creed i Resident Evil Television programs currently in production, Netflix has become a content center based on popular video game franchises. Now, a new rumor suggests that this trend could continue once again with a new series focusing on one of the games ’most iconic fantasy properties.
A new report has stated that Netflix is considering collaborating with Bethesda to create a new series based on The old documents video game series. It first started in 1994, The old documents has been one of Bethesda’s oldest franchises with featured entries in the main series, included Morrowind, Oblit, i Skyrim. When it comes to what the show would entail, it would be the variety of live action. Netflix is also said to want this show to be as massive as The Wizard if it came to fruition.
As for the origin of the rumor, it is a Daniel Ritchtman. In the past, Ritchtman has proven to be a fairly reliable source and has had firsts related to the film and television industry ahead. Therefore, while you will need to take this report with your usual grain of salt, there may be some validity.
As for how Bethesda might approach a situation like this, well, there’s a history that shows they might be willing to play ball with Netflix. For those who don’t remember, Bethesda announced in 2020 that it is working with Amazon to create a TV series based on its other major franchise, Negative consequence. While it remains to be seen whether the publishing label wants to work with two broadcast companies to create television programs simultaneously, the previous move shows that it is at least interested in exploring the television realm a little more.
Viouslybviamente, there is no confirmation that all this is happening yet, but if this comes to fruition, imagine that we would have more official news from Bethesda or Netflix in the future.
