2021 New Year’s babies born in hospitals in the Chicago area

CHICAGO (WLS) – Chicago area hospitals welcomed the first babies of 2021 on New Year’s Day.

One of the first babies of the new year was Maverick, born to Kratia and Marlon Franco, residents of Crete at 12:01 a.m. Friday at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Maverick weighs 7 pounds and 6 ounces and is 20 inches long. He is now one of seven brothers.

Baby Boy Canniff, whose name has not yet been decided, was born at 12:05 a.m. at the Advocate Condell Medical Center in Bridget and John Canniff. They are “excited to start the new year with a lot of joy.” It weighs 6 pounds and 11 ounces and is 18 inches long. He has two brothers in Grayslake.

Madelyn Jessica was born at 12:41 a.m. at Michael and Nicole Woltcheck’s Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital in Chicago. It weighs 7 pounds and 9 ounces and is 19.5 inches long.

Baby Girl Gonzalez was born at 1:04 a.m. Angelica Gonzalez and Andrew Spence at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. It weighs 3 pounds, 3 ounces and is from Mundelein.

Javien was born at 1:08 a.m. from Joseline Cuevas and Jean Rivera at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center Advocate. He has 6 pounds, 11 ounces and has three brothers in Chicago.

Baby Declyn was born in Sydney and Nicholas Walden in Glenview at 5:28 p.m. He was born 7 pounds and 5 ounces at NorthShore Evanston Hospital and is the couple’s first child.
