U.S. authorities are investigating the case of a woman who made a false complaint in New York, accusing an African-American teenager 14 years of stealing an iPhone. The fact was recorded in a video recorded by the child’s father, Keyon Harrold, a renowned jazz musician, and has expressed his outrage through social media.
“I’m furious! We see this happening all the time, but it hits differently when it gets home. I try to keep things positive, but nothing in this video is positive. The lady assaulted my 14-year-old son and me when we came down from our room at the Arlo Soho hotel for breakfast. This person lost their iPhone and apparently my son magically acquired it (…) “Harrold wrote on his Instagram account.

The video shows the woman arguing with the child’s father, while she points to the teenager’s cell phone. “Take out the case, it’s mine,” he says. To which Harrold replies, “You don’t have to tell him anything.”
The fact aroused outrage in the United States. Even New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio himself described the video via Twitter as a case of racism. “To Keyon Harrold and her family: I’m sorry this happened to you. Her behavior does not represent the values of our city “.

This is racism. Simple and straightforward.
It would be horrible at any age, but it’s especially offensive for it to happen to a child.
