PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Allegheny County Health Department reports 1,601 new cases of coronavirus and 22 additional deaths in the past 48 hours.
The county did not provide any updates Friday.
Of the recently reported cases, 1,224 are confirmed from 4,551 PCR tests. There are 377 probable cases.
The Department of Health says the new cases range from 5 months to 104 years, with a median age of 49 years. Positive test dates are from November 18th to January 1st. They say 122 positive tests are more than a week old.
Of the 22 deaths reported recently, two were 60, four were 70, ten was 80 and six were 90, thirteen of the 22 deaths were associated with long-term care centers. The dates of death ranged from 10 to 27 December.
Since the outbreak, there have been 3,219 hospitalizations in Allegheny County.
The death toll across the county has risen to 977.
There have been a total of 55,410 cases of coronavirus among Allegheny County residents since the pandemic began.
