Elliott and Cowboys still hoping to get to the playoffs

It has been one of the toughest seasons for the runner since he came to the league

Ezekiel Elliott gave positive for COVID-19 during the summer, has the worst numbers on its streeta, while the Dallas Cowboys they sank to the bottom of the Eastern Division of the National Conference and for the first time a game was lost due to injury.

The stellar Dallas runner has kept the spirit all season – at least in virtual conferences with reporters. His second game of the season over 100 yards helped keep the Cowboys ’hopes of getting the postseason alive before the final week.

Did I tell them? Maybe, but Elliott doesn’t really care that this wouldn’t have happened if Dallas weren’t in the worst division in the NFL, which will have a losing team in the playoffs.

“A win is a win, no matter how you get here,” Elliott said. “So if we win the division 7-9, it’s like winning 14-2. You get to the playoffs with a 0-0 record.”

The winner of the Cowboys (6-9) and Giants (5-10) showdown in Sunday morning’s duel could win the division if Washington (6-9) loses at home to Philadelphia in prime time . Washington advances with a triumph.

Elliott welcomes you to an unusual sequel to a tricky season.

The former Ohio State player thought for several seconds before responding if the year affected by the pandemic was more difficult than the 2017 season. This year Elliott fought in court for a two-month suspension on domestic violence charges before serving a six-match suspension.

“I would say it’s there,” Elliott said. “He’s definitely there next door.”

He took Elliott 10 matches to reach 100 yards per game. In his previous four seasons he hadn’t spent more than three weeks in the season to get the mark.

A couple of weeks later, the All Pro appeared on the injured list with a calf problem that lengthened and he finally left it out at week 15 against San Francisco. Outside of his suspension, Elliott had only missed games because the Cowboys reached the last game of the regular season securing their place in the playoffs in 2016 and 2018.

Now Dallas will play to keep their hopes up despite starting 2-7 and with a streak of three straight defeats. In addition to all the challenges of 2020, Elliott has fallen short on a precarious offensive line all season.
