People are warned not to show up at the sites unless they have an appointment. Those who had no prior appointment Sunday morning were turned down.
It has been a struggle for seniors to get a place despite tens of thousands more vaccines arriving in South Florida.
On Sunday morning, the Florida Department of Health website in Broward County to make an appointment finally went back to work after being down for several days, but at 9:30 a.m. it was back out line with a message that said, “We sincerely apologize. This site has been removed for maintenance in order to better serve you. Thank you.”

Those wishing to try to secure a place can also call the health department at (954) 467-4700.
This past week, the health department issued a statement saying, in part, “When the website is fixed, if you find that no appointments are available, check back often as we increase the number of vaccination sites. for seniors in Broward County in the coming weeks. “
Vaccines will be available at no cost, but you must have an appointment to show up at any of the newly opened driving locations.
