MacMillan did not hesitate.
The law school student posted the video of how it was injected to help spread data about the vaccine, alleviate concerns, and dispel myths and rumors.

The message received hundreds of thousands of views and thousands of comments.

Giant issued a statement supporting the pharmacist’s actions, explaining that health workers planned to receive the doses were not shown. Giant said the DC Department of Health makes it clear that if there are additional doses that will expire, they should be given to anyone who takes them.
“The Modern vaccine is valuable and saves lives, and we are glad we didn’t waste it and gave each couple a dose,” Giant said in a statement.
MacMillan said getting the vaccine didn’t get anyone who needed it. The situation was to use it or lose it.
He is scheduled to take a second dose again later this month.
