He explained that a blue car had left them there and then fled the scene at full speed. Although both the minor and the dog tried to chase the car, they failed to get it.
When he arrived at the police station, the police asked him his name and the little one said his name was Tony. As for her parents, she only replied that her mother’s name was Katy and her father David. After that, he was taken to a temporary home.
Hours later, David Centner, the station’s police chief, posted a photo of the child with the aim of receiving more information from him or his family. He also mentioned that those who wanted to send him Christmas presents, could do so without any problem.
The image went viral and, a few hours later, the Hinckley Police Department had been ‘flooded’ with clothes and gifts for the child.
“I would like to thank everyone for their kindness in buying Christmas gifts for Tony and his offers to welcome and adopt him.”, The institution said in a statement via Facebook. “They’re all amazing people and we have a great community here in Hinckley, all of Medina County and beyond.”.
Officers were known to have managed to locate Tony’s father, who “collaborated” with the investigations by ensuring that Tony was in his mother’s custody when he was abandoned; however, no charges have yet been filed against anyone as the investigation is still ongoing.
