Police reported the death of a minor under the age of five yesterday afternoon, in the Emergency Room area of the Sant Lluc Diagnosis and Treatment Center, located in the EL Tuque neighborhood in Ponce.
According to the information received at the Press Office, the complainant Wanda Acosta was interviewed who informed the police that she transported her daughter under the age of 5 to the said hospital as she stated that she was in pain. in the extremities and while they were in the waiting room, the minor began to present apparent difficulty breathing. The minor was then assisted by a nurse from the Hospital Institution, where after that at 05:22 in the afternoon, the death was certified by Dr. Pérez. It was reported that at the time of the investigation the minor showed no signs of visible violence.
The initial investigation was conducted by Agent Laracuente of the West Ponce Precinct. Sergeant Alex Ruiz, supervisor in charge of the Criminal Investigation Corps of the Ponce Area, was informed, who appeared at the scene together with the agents Héctor Cappas of Homicides and Roberto Leandry of Services Technicians took charge of the investigation, and Prosecutor Fabiola Rivera issued a ballot and ordered the body to be transferred to Forensic Sciences for autopsy. He was notified to the Department of the Family, which gave a reference number.
