Pharmacist accused of damaging COVID-19 vaccine believed it would change people’s DNA, officials say

OZAUKEE COUNTY – Pharmacist accused of intentionally breaking about 600 doses of Modern COVID-19 vaccine at a Grafton clinic made its initial appearance in an Ozaukee court on Monday.

Steven Brandenburg is the pharmacist accused of intentionally damaging vaccine vials at Grafton Aurora Medical Center on Dec. 24.

According to a statement of probable cause, Brandenburg removed the box containing the vaccine from a refrigerator and let it out for 12 hours, rendering it useless.

Brandenburg told investigators he believed the vaccine was unsafe for people and that it would “harm them and change their DNA,” the probable cause said. Brandenburg, according to Grafton’s police department, is an “admitted conspiracy theorist.”

Brandenburg was arrested on December 31 on first-degree charges that recklessly endangered safety, adulterated prescription drugs and criminal damage to property.

57 people received the vaccine after leaving it out, but it is believed there is no harm to health, Aurora officials said.
