Hulu’s live TV offering gets more than a dozen new channels through a multi-year deal with ViacomCBS.

The deal will feature Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, VH1, MTV, MTV2, MTV Classic, CMT, TV Land, BET, BET Her, Nick Jr., NickToons and TeenNick.a ViacomCBS spokesman reportedly told Gizmodo that it is not currently sharing details about levels or timing, and it is unclear whether the new channels will be included at the base level or as part of separately bundled add-ons.

However, the partnership will also help preserve some of Hulu’s existing offerings, including the CBS and CBS Sports channels, the Smithsonian channel, the CW, and PVOD through Showtime, among other content. Showtime is currently offered as premium selection this adds $ 11 a month to the cost of a user’s plan.

“We are thrilled to have reached an expanded agreement with Hulu that underscores the value of our powerful brand portfolio for next-generation television platforms and viewers,” said Ray Hopkins, president of U.S. Networks Distribution, ViacomCBS. in a statement. “Hulu remains a great partner and this agreement ensures that Hulu + Live TV subscribers can now enjoy for the first time the full range of our leading news, sports and entertainment content.”

Again, it is unclear what the price or launch of these new resources will be. But Hulu would be advised to offer legacy channels like Nickelodeon and Comedy Central through its basic packages, especially considering the recently announced rising prices who saw both ad-free and ad-supported versions the live TV package jumps about $ 10 a month. The service also recently lost support for Fox regional sports.

While the addition of cartoons and more entertainment programs won’t make up for the loss of regional sports coverage, it could at least help justify subscription cost increases.really, really I like He Daily show or South Park, at least. May be.
