PLANO, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – A driver died after a high-speed collision on Dallas Parkway, heading north, between Park and Parker in Plano on Monday, Jan. 4 in the morning.
Plano police said Rowlett’s 33-year-old Heather Alayne Hawkins was leaving the toll booth “at high speed, lost control and attacked a tree” around 7:20 a.m.
Witnesses reported that he was turning into traffic lanes.
Plano Fire-Rescue drivers kicked the driver out of the vehicle and rushed her to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Speed is a factor in this accident and intoxication is suspected with pending toxicology reports, police said.

Police closed the exit on Parker Road during the investigation and removal of the vehicle.
