Nick Caserio interviewed for GM Panthers and Texans jobs today, but traveled to Houston for the Texans meeting. And the longtime Patriots executive may be ready to make a big leap.
The Texans are expected to hire Caserio as the next CEO, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle (on Twitter). While nothing is over, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports points out (on Twitter) the chances of Caserio returning to New England next season can be classified as “scarce to none”. Caserio’s interview in Houston has produced “a real promise,” according to Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen of the ESPN.com report (via Twitter).
This move is on its way to happening, with Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL.com piulant indeed, the jeans have been set to zero at Caserio. His departure will be gone Dave Ziegler how Bill BelichickThe first lieutenant, though, the Broncos, who gave Ziegler his NFL start, have requested an interview with GM. The Ducks lost Ossenfort Mountains to the Titans last year.
Caserio, of course, has an extensive history with jeans. The team wanted to hire him in 2019, but his unusual Patriots contract banned that move. However, it resurfaced on the radar of jeans later Bill O’Briendismissal at the beginning of the season. Caserio worked with the current executive vice president of Texans Jack Easterby in New England and remains close to the former member of the Patriots. Easterby is believed to have a lot of influence on which direction the Texans go with this hiring.
Now 45, Caserio has been with the Patriots for 20 years. After Scott Pioli went to Kansas City in 2009, Caserio acquired a key role as Belichick’s right-hand man. He has been with the team in each of his six Super Bowl titles. The Patriots and Caserio reached another extension agreement in February 2020.
If Caserio got this job, he would get into an interesting situation. GM O’Brien’s brief tenure involved some scandalous and criticized trades, and one of them: the Laremy Tunsil agreement: leave the jeans without their first or second round. Miami is Houston’s No. 3 general election. Revitalizing this list would be quite a success, but hiring jeans an executive they have pursued for years would also be a big step.
