For the first time, in 72 years, they suspend traditional parade of Magi

The National District Council (DNA) announced the suspension of the Parade of the Magi, which is organized every January 6 by the Fire Brigade to please children.

The measure was adopted to comply with the provisions contained in Decree 740-20, issued by President Luis Abinader to control the contagion of Covid-19.

“Due to the provisions established in decree 740-20 issued by @presidenciard, the traditional parade of the Magi carried out by our @bomberosdn is suspended,” says a brief notice published by the DNA and the Fire Brigade of the National District.

It is the first time, that there is a record, that this tradition, which this year would celebrate its 73rd anniversary, is suspended.

Last year, hundreds of children and adults gathered at the National District Fire Station, home of the activity, to participate in the traditional parade and thus see Melcior, Gaspar up close. and Balthasar.
