Senator Mitt Romney mocked Trump supporters at the airport

Supporters of President Donald Trump mocked Sen. Mitt Romney at a Utah airport for not supporting the president before Congress counted the results of the presidential election.

In a video posted on Twitter, Romney appears to be waiting for his flight from Salt Lake City to Washington, DC to the waiting area when an angry woman approaches him and calls him not to side with President Trump’s allegations of fraud electoral.

“Why don’t you support President Trump? Don’t support him ” The woman asks.

“I support President Trump,” Romney said. “I’m sorry, I agree with a lot of the things he serves for and I support him.”

The woman was not satisfied with the response and continued to pressure Romney on the election results.

“It’s a long story, but it’s a constitutional process and the constitution is clear,” Romney says. “I will follow the constitution and explain all this when we meet in Congress this week.”

“You were voted conservative to represent the conservative components. Dot, ”the woman barks.

“Actually, that’s not how the constitution works,” Romney replies before turning off the laptop and leaving.

Another video shows passengers inside a plane shouting: “Traitor! Traitor! Traitor! ”

Romney has expressed that he will vote to certify the election victory of President-elect Joe Biden.

The Republican senator has even called on his Republican Party colleagues to oppose the certification of presidential election results.

“The terrible ploy to reject voters may increase the political ambition of some, but it dangerously threatens our Democratic Republic,” Romney said Sunday in a statement.

“The power of Congress to reject voters is reserved for the most extreme and unusual circumstances. These are by no means. More Americans participated in these elections than ever before and made their choice.
