President Luis Abinader announced on Wednesday that the National Housing Institute will become the Ministry of Housing and the Ministry of Public Works will be only for infrastructure, as recommended by specialists and international bodies.
The President’s statements were given at a press conference with representatives of his economic team and several ministers.
In this sense, the Minister of the Presidency, Lisandro Macarrulla assured that “the process of liquidation and restructuring of some state institutions is going at a good pace”.
He said that next week a second group of about 50 works will move from the OISOE, an entity that will disappear, to Public Works.
He added that in the other institutions the institutional adjustments are made so that everything is within the framework of the law.
He indicated that for the first quarter of this year this process of liquidating these institutions was completed.
