Rumor: Datamine apparently reveals everything about the new Nintendo Switch review

Change the console

It’s only the seventh day of the year and we already have some wild Nintendo rumors circulating online, so grab some salt and keep reading.

Known data hacker and console SciresM according to reports, it has discovered new details about the rumored Switch ‘Pro’ model going through a firmware code, although they warn that these details could no be completely accurate and there is also some speculation.

For this purpose, the revised system seems apparently called “Classroom” and uses a Mariko Sound. In addition, it is believed that it will support both of us portable and portable players, 4K compatibility in some way or form and could potentially have an OLED display. The Realtek chip can also be in the dock, instead of the system.

Here is the full breakdown of SciresM, using ResetEra:

In fact, Nintendo is working on a new model with updated screens and about 1.5-2 years ago. Personally I think it’s 4K given the signs I see in the firmware, but that’s not yet confirmed and could be wrong.

The new hardware is codenamed Classroom, uses a Mariko Sound. There are a lot of references to the code (the atmosphere already supports the new screen in theory).

The tablet itself has an updated screen, I don’t know if it’s 4K.

Classroom also has support for Realtek chip firmware which is also advertised as “4K UHD Multimedia SoC”, hence I think it is 4K. This chip may be inside a new dock and not inside the tablet, however, there is still no way to explain it from the firmware code.

Classroom explicitly supports hand mode. It’s not just coupled; this is calcium, which seems to only be released internally, as Calcium has no slot for playing cards or battery.

You can check the display code of the boot system if you are curious. The new display does not support pwm power management, it has its own manufacturer specific bs that I had to reverse engineer and implement a month or two ago.

Mariko has * substantially * better cooling and battery life. It is a stamp of good faith on the original generation.

My best guess (pure speculation, no indications of firmware to be so) is that if they need additional performance, they will increase the clock frequency everywhere.

But yes, I speculate that the games will be like the “enhanced DSi” games, or how some games benefited from PS4 Pro despite working on PS4.

Checked out my previous discussions with hexkyz, the updated tablet screen is an OLED screen. It probably doesn’t have a higher resolution on the tablet itself, so I guess the 4k realtek chip is more likely to be a new dock than I thought.

Vanilla probably won’t.

We are in the realm of speculation. Classroom has a new GPIO that Redbox is not related to, so I guess Redbox units will not support the new one.

Rumors of Switch ‘Pro’ have been circulating for a few years, and several industry analysts remain confident that it will appear sometime this year. You can catch up with all the developments above our complete guide.
