Northeastern University says it is one of the first colleges in the country to administer doses of the coronavirus vaccine to staff members.
Massachusetts sent about 200 doses of Moderna vaccine to the school, about half of which have already been administered, officials say.
The state gave it to the school so that it could give the vaccine to those who belong to the first group in the state that meets the requirements to receive one, which includes health workers.
Officials say those who were inoculated on Tuesday work at Northeastern test centers and their health counseling services. About 100 people have already received the first round of the vaccine.
School officials anticipate that it will receive COVID-19 vaccines from both Pfizer and Moderna, according to the supply. But as more arrive, they hope that at some point the school can give at least 1,000 shots a day.
